Snehanilayam Special School Celebrates Teachers’ Day with Gratitude and Joy

As part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations, Snehanilayam Special School organised a meaningful and memorable Teachers’ Day celebration on Monday, September 7, honouring the dedicated service and invaluable contributions of its teaching and non-teaching staff.

The programme was organised to recognise the commitment, compassion and hard work of the staff members who have devoted themselves to the education, care and overall development of children with special needs. The celebration was a tribute to those who have made Snehanilayam a place of learning, love, acceptance and hope.

The function was graced by Sr. Kochuthresia, Manager of Snehanilayam; Sr.Tincy, Principal; Sr.Sangita Dabre, ACI Regional Superior ; and Mr. Rajeev Menon, Convener of the Golden Jubilee Governing Committee.

Shri Hibi Eden, Member of Parliament, inaugurated the celebration and delivered the inaugural address. Chartered Accountant Mr. Johney Pallivathukal was also present on the occasion. Teaching and non-teaching staff members who had completed five or more years of dedicated service at Snehanilayam were honoured in recognition of their commitment and contribution to the institution. Mr. Johney Pallivathukal presented mementos to the staff members as a token of appreciation and gratitude.

Greetings and felicitations were offered by Mrs. Susheela Kuriachan Vice Chairperson of AID; Mr. Rajeev Menon; Mr. Johney Pallivathukal; and Sister Sangeetha. Their words highlighted the importance of teachers and caregivers who work tirelessly to nurture the abilities, confidence and independence of children with special needs.

One of the most touching moments of the celebration was the sharing of memories by former and present teachers. They recalled their experiences at Snehanilayam, the challenges they had overcome, the progress of their students and the beautiful moments they had shared with the children. Their heartfelt recollections reflected the deep bonds of affection and trust that unite teachers, students, parents and the institution.

For the Snehanilayam family, Teachers’ Day was more than a celebration; it was an opportunity to express gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the institution’s journey over the years. Every teacher’s patient guidance, every caregiver’s compassionate support and every staff member’s dedicated service have played an important role in shaping the lives of the children and adults entrusted to their care.

As Snehanilayam celebrates its Golden Jubilee, the occasion served as a reminder that the institution’s fifty-year journey has been made possible by the selfless service and collective commitment of its staff, management, parents and well-wishers.
